Marina & Boat Launch on the Erie Canal
Rivers Crossing Campground & Marina sits on the Clyde River at Mays Point, where the river is part of the Erie Canal. Launch your own boat (free for registered campers, $10 for day visitors), rent one of our 30 boat slips for your stay, or take out a canoe or kayak for the day. From our dock, the canal runs west toward Clyde and Lyons, and a short run east brings you to the Cayuga-Seneca Canal and on to Cayuga and Seneca Lakes.
Where You Are on the Water
Our marina is on the Erie Canal next to the NY-89 bridge at Mays Point, a short run from Lock E-25. The canal here follows the Clyde River, so the main channel is right off our docks.

Head east and you'll reach the junction with the Cayuga-Seneca Canal in under two miles, your route to Cayuga Lake and Seneca Lake. Head west and the canal takes you toward Clyde and Lyons. Either way, you're running along the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge, so keep an eye out for bald eagles and herons.

The historic Clinton's Ditch, the original hand-dug Erie Canal, also runs through our grounds in its preserved state. It's worth a walk even if you never untie the boat. See our story.
Boat Launch
Our boat launch gives you direct access to the Clyde River, a straight shot onto the historic Erie Canal and just a short boat ride from Cayuga Lake. Store your boat trailer securely on our
property, giving you peace of mind while you're out on the water.
Cost: $10.00 per boat, complimentary for registered campground guests.​
Canoe and Kayak Rentals
No boat? No problem. Rent a canoe or kayak for $30 a day, dawn to dusk, and paddle the quiet water along the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge. It's an easy way for the whole family to get out on the river. Hoping for something with a motor? Call the office before you book, since options can change from season to season.

Boat Slip Rental in the Finger Lakes
Keep your boat in the water for your whole stay. We have 30 boat slips for registered campground guests at $15 per day, so you can walk down in the morning and be fishing before the coffee's cold. Slips are only available with a campsite, cabin or cottage reservation, and there are a limited number, so ask about slip availability when you book rather than when you arrive.

Boat Slip Rental Cost: $15.00 per day. Must be a registered guest at the campground.
Stock Up at the Camp Store
Our convenience store has bait, ice, snacks, cold drinks, food supplies and ice cream. We're also the exclusive local supplier of Yaleye hand-crafted lures, made for walleye fishing. Want to know what's biting? See our river fishing guide.
Boat Trailer Storage
Once your boat is in the water, park your trailer in our boat trailer storage area. Trailers can't be left on your campsite, and the storage area keeps your site clear.

We offer trailer storage during your stay only. We don't offer boat winterization or repair services.
Planning Around the Canal Season
The New York State Canal Corporation runs the locks on a seasonal schedule, opening in spring and closing in the fall. Dates change every year. If your trip involves locking through Lock E-25 or heading down the Cayuga-Seneca Canal, check the current season and lock hours at canals.ny.gov before you go.​
